Midweek Mask Talk: GARNIER Sakura White Pinkish Radiance Intensive Whitening Mask

Happy Deepavali, Ladies! Today, I have a short one for you out there. It's from the new Garnier Sakura White series. Before Garnier came out with this series, it has never cross my mind that sakura has any nutrient/benefit to us, human, apart from its beauty and fragrance. The truth is, these cherry blossoms are rich in antioxidants and they are also anti-inflammatory. And the most important benefit that is the key selling point of this product is its whitening effect.

屠妖节快乐！今天就来个简短的点评吧。这是Garnier新出的Sakura White 系列。在这之前，我从未想过樱花除了美和香以外，其实对人也有好处。事实是，樱花含有丰富的抗氧化成分，而且它可帮助消炎。最重要的也是这产品的头号卖点，就是它的美白功效。

But I did not realize any major whitening result after using it for one time. Though I have to give credit to Garnier for using such good quality material which allows the mask to fit perfectly to the face. And another good thing about this mask is that it does not leave the face feeling sticky after use. It also has a nice scent to it which goes for all the other product in the same series.

不过， 我用了一次后， 并没有发现有明显的美白效果。 虽然如此，我还是得给Garnier打星，他们采用的面膜品质很好，敷在脸上超合的。还有啊，用完以后，脸不会觉得粘粘的。面膜里淡淡的香味，还不错。

The mask is pink. 

The retail price is RM9.90 per piece. It's not the cheapest. And I think I would only repurchase it if I'm desperate and it is the only mask available on the rack. 

市场售价一片是RM9.90。它不是最便宜的面膜。你觉得我会再买这款面膜吗？假设市场上只剩下这款面膜，其他的都没有了，那我就会买咯。

Midweek Mask Talk: LANEIGE Water Bank Double Moisture Mask

Our Mask Talk series would not be complete without this "power mask". (And no, this is not the last post for the series. There are too many masks in the market.) This mask is the one mask that every girl should have on standby. Any other mask can give you instant result for a couple hours but this particular one, can give you up to 48 hours of bouncy, soft skin. I've experienced it personally, even though they did not make such claim. 

咱们的面膜系列如果没有提到这款 “重量级” 面膜绝对不完整。（放心，这不是最后一篇，因为市场上真的有太多太多的面膜了） 这面膜可是每个女生家里，无时无刻， 一年365天都必须有一片来应付不时之需的。 市场上任何一款面膜用后都可以让皮肤呈现出即刻的效果， 可是Laneige 的这款呢，可以给予长达48小时的弹弹肌。 本人可是有身经体验哦 哈哈 

This "power mask" does what it say it does

The packaging is kept simple like any other Laneige products. Inside, the mask is folded properly and the white plastic with holes is what keeping the mask in place. Notice that the white plastic with holes is only half? Laneige has shows that little innovative like this help to save cost, material and most importantly, mother earth! It basically go to the rubbish bin anyway. As for the mask itself, the material fits like a second skin to the face. It's made out from natural cotton. There is also something extra for the bottom half of the face. It's double power for the chin and cheeks! 

皮面包装的设计都以简单利落为主，和其他Laneige 产品一样。 里面的面膜则是整齐地折着，中间有半片白色塑料隔着。只有半片哦！ Laneige 还瞒有环保意识的，当然，这也是他们省钱、省成本的其中一招。那片白色的隔离塑料反正都是直接进垃圾桶的啦！ 它面膜本身是天然棉制的，非常合身（脸）。下半边还有附多一层，所以脸颊和下巴有双层滋润哦！

The double layer mask is attached together at the bottom.
So, just put on the bigger layer first then fold the other half layer onto the cheeks and chin, then adjust.

The consistency of the essence is quite thick and it is advised to leave it on for 30 minutes for optimal result. After that, I will massage for a few minutes until the essence is almost dry. I practice the basic 5 step face massage for a more obvious V-shape face. It's pretty simple and you don't really need to make it into exactly 5 step. You can just go with the flow. 

精华液的质感比较粘， 面膜要放上30分钟才会有最佳效果。然后呢，我会慢慢按摩脸部直到剩下的精华液差不多干完。基本上我的按摩方式有五步，有瘦脸和提拉的作用，脸看起来更V。其实不一定要分五步，随心也可以。

As for the price, it is slightly more expensive than the others. Retail price is RM150 for 8 sheets, so it's RM18.75 each sheet. I got it from my trusty friend, Vanity Jo, who got it directly from Korea. It's RM12 per sheet. You can find a lot of other webstores selling it too. It's usually about RM10-12 per piece. So, it's still quite affordable. You can use it once in awhile then :)

至于它的价格嘛，会比较贵。市价是八片RM150， 所以一片大概是RM18.75。我是透过朋友Vanity Jo，从韩国买回来的。一片只要RM12。大家可以在很多网上商店找到，通常是RM10 到 RM12之间。其实还算瞒划的， 它的CP值高的。最多久久用一次好了 :)

Midweek Mask Talk: GARNIER Intensive 3 in 1 Whitening Essence Mask

Hi ladies, this week I've tried the old Garnier Intensive 3 in 1 Whitening Essence Mask. Which 3 in 1 you may ask. It's Scutellaria extract, pure lemon essence and Tanggula glacier water. As written on the back of the package, Scutellaria is a kind of mint, can reduce melanin production which helps to lighten the skin tone while the acidic pure lemon essence helps to remove dead skin cell and brightening. The highly nourishing  glacier water from Tanggula, Tibet, is to boost hydration and lock it in our skin cell. With all these 3 ingredients combined, the skin will be fairer, more radiant and hydrated. 

嗨，姐妹们！这星期试用的面膜有卡尼尔的Intensive三合一Whitening Essence Mask。哪三样呢？ 就是黄苓，纯柠檬精华和唐古拉山冰川水。包装后面写着：黄苓是一种薄荷，可减少黑色素的产生，以帮助提亮肤色，而柠檬可帮助去除死皮和美白。那含有丰富矿物质的唐古拉山冰川水是补水和锁水。这三样成份混合在一起，皮肤会变得更白、更亮丽，也更保湿。

So, here's my first impression. The fabric is very soft and it's quite hard to manage. The fitting is good. It does feel like a second skin. And the size of the mask is also adequate. But it dried out within 10 minutes which I think is because of 2 reasons: one, the absorption of the fabric is not as strong as other mask that I've used and; two, there is only 19ml of essence in the package. Whereas other mask usually has 25ml and some even has 30ml. As for the result, I'll let you be the judge. I have a before and after photo below which is taken at the same spot with the same lighting. 

我对这面膜的第一印象是布质很软、很贴，可是很难拿捏。大小刚刚好。不过，十分钟后就干透了。我觉得是因为两个原因： 一， 布质的吸水力较弱；二，面膜里只有19毫升的精华。 一般面膜都会有25毫升，一些甚至有30毫升。 至于它的功效呢，我就让你自己来评评吧！以下是我用前，用后的照片，都在同一个地方和同一种灯光下拍的。

Garnier actually recommends it to be used twice a week and the skin will appear fairer and more radiant day after day. Exactly how long you will need? I seriously don't know. I've tried 1 and I did not really notice any lightening of my skin tone. Anyway, it's RM7.90. Not the cheapest but still affordable. 

卡尼尔其实建议大家一周用两次。皮肤就会一天比一天白。要多久呢？这一点我可不知道咯。试了一次其实不觉得我的肤色有白到。这面膜一片是RM7.90，绝对不是市场上最便宜的，不过还瞒实惠的。

Midweek Mask Talk: NARUKO Rose & Botanic HA Aqua Cubic Hydrating Mask

The new one is slightly different but the base color is still the same.

Here's another of my favorite mask from Naruko. It is also one of their most popular products and was nominated for Cite Cosme Beauty Awards last year. It's a lovely rose-scented deep hydration mask that can prevent dullness and give radiant complexion, as what they claims. I gotta admit that I'm a sucker for nice scent haha...But the scent does have therapeutic function, it really helps a lot in relaxation, which is one of the main reason I keep going for sheet mask. 

今天要给大家分享的是我的最爱之一， 它也是牛尔亲研的热卖产品，去年还获得了Cite Cosme Beauty Awards的提名。一打开包装，淡淡的玫瑰花香扑鼻而来。据说，面膜可给予深层保湿，让暗沉的皮肤焕然一新、明亮艳人。在这里，我必须想大家坦白，我是会被香味所吸引，我超爱香香的产品。。哈哈。。可是我觉得香味的确有治疗性效果，对放松身心很有帮助，也是我一直喜欢用这种面膜的原因。

Now, the real reason this mask is one of their best seller is the micro technology that used to transform the the essence into ultra-fine bio-active molecules that can easily penetrate through the skin cells into deeper layer and release its active energy. And of course the mask is full of awesome ingredients and their signature Phytoferulin. They not only pump hydration into the skin, they also lock in the moisture. Another important element that make a good mask is the fabric. For this mask, they used a thin and soft fabric for better absorption. The soft fabric was able to cover the skin without any air trapped in between. So, the skin is forced to absorb maximum level of goodness from the mask. The essence is watery but has a gel-like consistency. So, I do feel a bit sticky after using. 

一张好的面膜还有另一个很重要的元素，那就是布料。这款呢，用的是比较软薄的布质，好让皮肤可以有更好的吸收效果。软软的布质会乖乖的敷在皮肤上，没有多余的空气藏在里头。这样皮肤就被逼吸收精华里所有的滋润。面膜里的精华水水的可是又有点凝胶状。用完以后，我感觉有点粘粘的。

Midweek Mask Talk: NARUKO Taiwan Magnolia Brightening and Firming Mask EX

A thousand apologizes for the late post this week. Midweek has become weekend and I'm really sorry about it. Work has been crazy and my week was too hectic. I did sneak time for mask but did not have time to blog about it. So I guess everyone is preparing for Raya holiday now? Some are already at your holiday destination I believe. Wherever you are, I'm very sure you want to look the best. Now here's something that can give you a quick fix. 

我郑重地向大家道歉，这个礼拜的post严重地迟了！真的很对不起，最近工作真的太忙了。还好我有时间敷面膜，只不过没有时间写blog。 现在大家应该都在享受着开斋节假日吧？ 相信很多都已经到达了假期的目的地对吗？ 无论你在哪儿，都会想呈献出自己最好的一面，这里我要给大家分享一个急救的良品。

This mask from Naruko's Taiwan Magnolia Series is actually for aging skin. It repair, brighten and firm the skin. I believe in starting up early in anti-aging. I'm in my quarter life so it is time to have some precaution. 

Staying up late does affect our skin complexion a bit at the next day. My skin is always a drama queen in this department. Usually after a late night, my skin will become dull and dead the next day and it will last a few days. This piss me off! It actually made me think twice before deciding whether to go clubbin' or not. I have to weigh my sacrifices which is really sad. 

这款牛尔亲研的台湾白玉兰系列专针对熟龄肌。它可修复、提亮和拉紧皮肤。本人相信抗老是越早越好，我现在都已经二十五岁了，是时候开始做些预防措施。常常熬夜不睡觉会影响肤质，第二天就马上见效。 我的皮肤绝对是“超级戏剧女王”， 反应是超大、超明显的， 而且还会持续几天呢！就因为这样，朋友约去夜店之前我都会犹豫不绝。

Okay, my point is staying up late means our body is unable to rest and detox properly and hence, our skin becomes dull and it ages faster than normal. So, this mask actually hits all the spot. After using it, I only notice slight brightening effect, don't expect it to work like a magic. That is abnormal. Don't forget it's only 15 minutes on our skin. The essence of this mask is white in color and the ingredient list is as shown for those who are interested. It mainly contains a lot of plant/flower extract. There's also shea butter in it. I'm quite surprise about this though. There's also a special ingredient called Phytoferulin. This is an exclusive ingredient owned by Naruko and used in all their products which enhances the skin's natural defense system against external harmful elements. It is created using 11 types of plant extract and is certified by ECOCERT.

ok 我要说的是，熬夜会导致身体无法好好休息和拍毒，所以肤色会暗淡，皮肤老化的速度会更快，而这款面膜刚好就是针对这几个问题。我用完后，发现只有少少的提亮效果，请大家别期望这面膜会像变魔术一样，那时不寻常的，别忘记它只有15分钟的时间来滋润我们的皮肤哦！ 面膜里的精华是白色的。所有成份都列入在以下照片里。主要的有很多种植物/花类的精华。面膜里还有乳木果油，看到它我的确很惊讶。还有一种独特的成份就是Phytoferulin，牛尔亲研独有的成份，结合了十一种植物精华，也经ECOCERT认证。

Now, from the photos, I'm sure you have notice that this mask is a bit different. It has ears and some extras at the bottom. Basically just place the mask as usual and then stretch the fabric a bit and bring the sides to hook on your ears. Then, do the same for the bottom piece.

从照片大家应该都看得出这款面膜的设计与众不同。 它有多余的“耳朵”， 下面还有多余的一块。用法基本上是和普通面膜一样的。只需将面膜敷在脸上，然后顺着拉，拉到耳朵边钩住，下巴的部分也一样。看看以下照片就懂了。

  

Apart from the ingredients, the fabric of the mask plays a vital role too. It provides the support for firming. The fabric of the mask is quite thick and this allows it to be stretch nicely to the sides. There's tonnes of firming mask out there and some are just normal sheet mask that does nothing in firming. This mask, however, has a smarter design. Put it on and you'll feel the pull from the mask. Those with double chin problems should try this mask actually, it might help in long term. Though, no one can guarantee that at this time.

一款面膜要好用，除了成份重要以外，面膜的品质也非常重要，尤其是有提拉功效的面膜。因为面膜需要给于足够的支撑度。这款面膜的布质还瞒厚的，可以放心的拉。对于有双下巴的朋友们，不妨试试这面膜，长期用应该会有效吧！可是，暂时没人敢写保单。

Midweek Mask Talk: ETUDE HOUSE Skin Note Lifting Up Hydrogel Mask

Hi ladies! Back at work and feeling a 'lil post holiday blue today? Well, me too. I like to have a little self-pampering session on blue days like this. A nice cold bath with my favorite shower gel which smells amazing, some deep conditioning hair mask for silky and shiny hair, follow by a nice face mask to end the day with some jazz music in the background. Simple and relaxing!

嗨，姐妹们！今天都开始上班了对吗？ 

This week, my skin is very dry and dull. Apart from that, my sebum is also out of control. It's the week of the month again :'( Hate it when it's here! And each month pass by so quickly I can barely catch up with things. My poor skin is just so terrible I thought I should try something more intense this week. I bought some mask from Etude House 3 weeks ago and this is one of it. It's not a normal sheet mask. It's a gel mask.

这星期我的皮肤特别干燥，色调也比较暗沉，皮脂腺完全失控，是大姨妈要来了。最近总觉得时间过得特别快，每个月眨眼就过去了，根本跟不上啊！而我可怜的皮肤每个月都被折磨:'( 所以这星期打算用比较强的面膜。早前在Etude House买了这个，有三星期了。它不是普通纸/布面膜，是胶状的。

The mask is divided into 2 pieces, top and bottom half. The gel mask is protected with 2 layers of film, one side with clear film and one with white film. This is to ensure that the masks don't stick together and it is also easier to handle. The gel mask is very thin and slippery but luckily, it's not easily torn. The instruction on the back of the package says to place the side with clear film onto the skin for maximum effect. So, what I did was, I remove the clear film first, then place the mask onto my face and then only I remove the white film. The white film gives me more control over the soft gel mask. It's easier to hold it in place that way. The gel mask sticks to the face like a glove, no air bubble at all! This is one thing I'm starting to like about gel mask.

这款面膜被分成上下两片， 而且前后两侧都有加保护膜。一边是透明的，另一边是白色的塑胶纸， 是避免面膜不会粘在一起，比较好拿。这款胶面膜很薄，又很滑，不过幸好它不会很容易破。包装上有写明要将有透明塑胶纸的那一面贴在脸上，效果会比较好。所以我就先将透明的塑胶纸拉开，然后将面膜敷在脸上，再把白色的塑胶纸拿掉。用了它，我已经开始爱上胶面膜了，因为它伏贴感很好。

The Hydrogel Mask is not a 1 piece mask, it's divided into bottom and top half for easier application

It's a bit small though so if you have bigger or wider face, the mask will not be able to cover everything.
I hope they make it bigger

Here's the instruction and ingredients.
Like all other masks, the main ingredients are water and glycerin.
A little bit of royal jelly extract and hydrolyzed collagen is added

This is the texture of the gel mask when all the essence has dried off.
I believe the pattern is designed to increase the gripping power of the mask. 

The texture of the essence is very thick so after using it, my face was quite sticky. As for the lifting effect, I don't think there is any because the gel texture is soft. However, I do realize that some redness has reduce and it's very moisturizing. The mask helps to stabilize my skin and calm down the sebum. The mask is lightly scented and the fragrance is very nice.

面膜里的精华很厚，用完之后脸会粘粘的。至于有没有拉提的效果呢？ 本人觉得一点都没有因为面膜是胶状的，太软了。 可是， 我却觉得它有效地镇定了我的皮肤。红斑消了，皮脂腺也没那么旺盛了。 一整天皮肤都没有特别油。我也瞒喜欢面膜的香味， 淡淡的。

Overall, I would say it's a good one and I'll definitely repurchase it. But the mask is not cheap. It's RM 16.90 each. I got it for only RM 11.80 because there was a 30% discount. There's 5 selection in the Hydrogel Mask series: Deep Moisturizing, Brightening, Pore Tightening, Calming and Lifting Up. I also got the Pore Tightening one which is made of apple and clay. So stay tune for it!

终结来讲本人觉得这是个好面膜，下会肯定会再买。不过，要告诉大家它可不便宜哦！一片要RM 16.90。我买的时候其实有七折，所以我只付了RM 11.80。它整个系列里有五款，包括深层保湿，美白，收缩毛孔，镇定和拉提。我总共买了两片，拉提的和收缩毛孔的。大家请拭目以待！

Midweek Mask Talk: NATURE REPUBLIC Whitening Collagen Dream Mask Sheet

I apologize for a late post this week because I had some medical situation over the past few days. I'm still recovering at home now.
This week's mask experience isn't a good one. It's my first time trying something from Nature Republic. It's the Whitening Collagen Dream Mask Sheet which has the face of Korean singer, Taeyeon, from Girls' Generation. There's also other packaging with the face of Goo Hara from Kara and JYJ. Personally, I'm not a Kpop fanatic and it's what's inside the package that matters. But I'm still curious how much those ambassadors has helped boost their sales throughout the years. I do have a friend or two who will buy any stuff that their idol endorse. Hmm...will you?

很抱歉这星期的post晚了，因为前几天身体出了些状况， 现在还在家康复着。请大家多多包涵哦！
这星期的面膜记不是很理想。 这是我第一次尝试韩国牌子Nature Republic的产品。 是他们家的胶原蛋白美白梦幻面膜。包装上有著名韩国团体少女时代的金泰妍。 他们也找了其他明星如： 卡拉的Goo Hara 及 JYJ 来代言。我个人不是什么韩风狂，我觉得最重要的还是包装里头的东西。 可是我也很好奇到底这些明星代言人对他们的销售量有多少帮助。我认识的有几个朋友还真的会为了偶像而买某些产品，你呢？

Now, let us get into the ingredients of the mask. There's high concentration of Vitamin B3 in the form of Niacinamide which helps to improve skin elasticity and uneven skin tone. It also promotes healthy skin cells by stimulating dermis microcirculation and pumping more oxygen to the skin cells. Apart from that, there's also a tonne of floral and fruit extract for whitening the skin. The main character here is mentioned as 'soluble collagen'. No information on the source of collagen stated so I guess it's just some synthetic keratin. 

让我们来分析一下面膜里的成份吧！首先发现的就是烟酰胺，是维他命B3的一种。它可以帮助增加皮肤弹性和改善不均匀肤色。 它还可以激发真皮层的微循环，给细胞提供足够的氧气以促进健康的细胞。此外， 面膜里也添加了许多有美白功效的植物和水果精华。而整个面膜的主角呢，就是所谓的‘溶化性胶原蛋白’。没有其他资料了，应该是普通的人造角蛋白吧

The most annoying thing I feel about this mask is that it is too small. And the fabric is too thick and stiff so it's hard to lay it nicely onto my face. Remember last week I told you all to eliminate all air bubble for maximum benefit? This mask is terrible! The fragrance is quite strong but nice. But then again, fragrance is something very personal. So, I can't judge much. The essence of the mask is thick and sticky. Well, generally, collagen masks are more sticky. After using it, I did not notice any whitening effect. My skin color looks the same.

最恼人的是面膜太小了！而且布质还很厚，很挺，根本就没办法伏贴在脸上。大家应该还记得上星期我说过要弄走所有气泡才可以让皮肤充分地吸收面膜上的精华吗？ 这面膜简直是太烂了！面膜的香精还瞒重的，不过味道还好。可是香味这东西是看个人的，所以我也不能多说什么。面膜的精华又粘又厚，基本上，所有胶原蛋白面膜都是比较粘的。我用完后没有发现任何美白效果，皮肤的颜色还是一样的。

I think this mask is available in the Nature Republic store and I know they always have mask promotions so go like their Facebook page, Nature Republic Malaysia, so that you can get updated news. I actually got this  with some other masks from my friend, Vanity Jo. It was 6 for RM15. So, each cost only RM 2.50. Super duper cheap!!! But I definitely won't repurchase this again.

这面膜应该在他们的店里就找得到，而且他们常有面膜促销，所以就去like一下他们的官方面子书Nature Republic Malaysia，随时随地就可以知道最新消息了。我其实是从朋友那儿买的，是Vanity Jo。六片RM15， 一片才RM 2.50。超超超便宜的！ 可惜我不会再买。

Midweek Mask Talk: NRK HA Hydro-Lock Moisturizing Mask

Hi ladies! This is a new series that I've started. Every Wednesday, I'll share a post on one of the sheet mask that I've tried out. This week is gonna be NRK's HA Hydro-Lock Moisturizing Mask which targets to capture, pump up and lock in the moisture in our skin.

嗨！这是我部落格新开始的面膜系列。我会在每周三跟大家分享一个我试用过的面膜。这星期的主角是NRK的玻尿酸锁水保湿面膜。它的任务就是抓水、补水和锁水。

The main ingredient here is Glycerin, which I've explained before, is a common moisturizer used in many skincare, body and hair products. Other than that, there's Caesalpinia Spinosa Gum and Erythritol which enhances the ability of skin cells to lock in moisture while Homarine HCL act as a skin-conditioning agent to balance the level of moisture. The main character of this product, HA, is actually the 3rd last ingredient listed: Sodium Hyaluronate. Just to share something about HA, it actually does not help to improve the skin's moisture when used topically because the molecule are too large to be absorb into deep skin. The essence that soaks the mask is quite watery. And it's one of the reason why I like it. The light weighted essence is easy on the skin and it's not too sticky after it dries off. Perfect for a quick fix before an important night out!

The size of the mask is perfect to my face. The texture of the mask is also very thin but not too hard to handle. Because sometimes when the mask is too thin and soft, it's hard to open up the folds without tearing it. This mask is not too stiff and it lays down nicely onto my face. As you can see from the photo, there's not much air bubble. A little beauty tip here, try to eliminate all air bubble that blocks the skin from absorbing the essence from the mask. The key is to make sure that it's airtight.

面膜的size 刚刚好我的脸型。 它的布质很薄，可是还瞒挺的，不会很难搞。有些面膜的布质太薄，很难打开，一不小心就会拉破。这款面膜就不会，而且因为它够薄，所以可以很贴。从照片上大家可以看到是很少气泡的。这里有个小贴示， 敷面膜的时候尽量弄掉那些气泡，因为那会阻碍皮肤吸收精华。

The mask is a little bit big for me at the bottom so I folded them up.

New series: Midweek Mask Talk

Hi ladies! I'm starting a new series for the blog to talk about all the sheet masks that I've tried before. The series will begin in July. Every Wednesday, I'll share a post of the sheet masks that I've used for the week or before that. I personally believe in the saying that, there's no ugly women in this world, there's only lazy women. Sheet mask is something that will give you immediate effect but it does not necessarily last long. That's why it is usually advised to do it at least twice a week. 

The reason I like sheet mask is that it allows me to steal 10-15 minutes to take a power nap and at the same time, pamper my skin. My work can be pretty stressful at times and even after I leave the office, I sometimes take some work home. Because after a long day, I'm usually quite exhausted and in need of a nice cold shower to refresh my brain. I will also scrub my face during shower, then after shower I will put on a sheet mask then rest for 15-20 minutes. I also love a good sheet mask with nice scent because it provides a little bit of therapeutic effect. Roses are my favorite! 

Another reason I want to do a specific series for sheet mask is because there are too many options out there. Every brand comes out with a lot of sheet mask using different ingredient and with different functions. They can be as cheap as RM3 and up to RM20. Well, I haven't try all of them but I've tried many of them.
